Hydrangea Heaven

The Yohena Ajisai-en, (or Yohena Hydrangea Garden) is a beautiful must-see for all flower and nature lovers. It is located in northern Okinawa, in Motobu.
The garden is over 9000 square meters and it was once filled with tangerine trees.
This garden was created by a lovely lady named Uto Yohena,
who unfortunately passed away last year at 100 years old.
Her family however,
has kept up with all the work in her garden,
and her hydrangeas still live on...

The best time to visit these hydrangeas in mid to full bloom
are end of May till mid-June, and this all depends on rain,
(if it rained a lot, then they would be in bloom earlier, etc)
The entrance fee is 400 yen and 200 or 300 for kids.
There is free parking and it's open daily from 9am to 6pm
until June 30.

Address:  1312 IzumiMotobu-cho, Kunigami-gun 905-0221, Okinawa Prefecture

  1. What an absolutely beautiful place...I love hydrangeas! I have a bush that I planted in my yard years ago and every year it gets just one bloom...boo! I love the denim skirt. I've actually been looking for a new one and yours is perfect.
